Season Five: Episode 3
Introduction
There seems to be a growing curiosity about religion, living more deeply spiritual lives, and yes—vocations to religious life. A new approach to welcoming vocation discerners is taking root among the Springfield Dominicans, too. Come along with Sisters Denise Glazik and Mary Jo Sobieck to discover what’s happening and how you can support the movement.
About our guests
Springfield Dominican Sister Denise Glazik is a natural pastoral leader with decades of experience accompanying people on the journey of faith in central Illinois and rural Wisconsin. She’s been the director of the vocation office for six years. She continues in that role with the new title of Minister of Vocation Accompaniment.
Springfield Dominican Sister Mary Jo Sobieck taught elementary school students and then at Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Ill., for 13 years before embarking on an exploration of cross-cultural ministry with the Latino community, learning Spanish and immersing herself within immigrant communities in Illinois, Indiana, and Arizona. She recently began her new work as the Minister of Vocation Animation for the congregation.
